New Transformative Micro-Meso-Macro Level Approaches for Co-building Peace
Peace Workers Collaborative (PWC)
Burcu Eke-Schneider – Aslı Telli – Andreu Ginestet
The 40th Anniversary Science for Peace Symposium has opened an important space for peace workers`collaboration. This collaboration is based on a transdisciplinary knowledge-sharing process, which can ultimately facilitate the transformative peacebuilding process. Because of today’s urban needs, peace and conflict studies should be part of all urban transformation for a peaceful, sustainable, and just future. Our contribution provides three peace worker’s proposals to ensure that peaceful practices can emerge from science, art and nature-based approaches. Using data from the real world, and applying scientific and creative methods to the field, it lays out unique participation processes of different actors in achieving change at the individual, community, institutional, and even global level. These new peace-building approaches are important elements for any strategy to achieve SDGs, and to transform peace science for a common future.
