Online workshop on September 12 at PeaceCon 2024 in Washington, DC. As members Peace Workers Collaborative, we believe that every single person can contribute to Peace.

Beyond established and proven peacebuilding routes like dialogue and diplomacy, many different avenues for building peace and overcoming conflict exist. This workshop explored scalable, locally-led, evidence-based peacebuilding interventions around arts, nature, and science in a series of case studies from the North-Rhine Westphalia Region of Germany. The presentation discussed, for example, the use of urban peace gardens that promote intercultural exchange, well-being, and creative and regenerative healing with nature to advance community peace. The session also explored the use of peace hubs such as the one in Essen, Germany, which empower non-traditional actors to take power in local peacebuilding.
